Incredibly easy installation. It comes with pretty clear instructions and there is a video on YouTube to help you out if you have any questions. No tools are required for my 2015 Forester, just your hands. In fact, it's almost a crime for a store to charge you more than $5-6 for a replacement, especially since you rarely bring it just for that. Note: If you pinch the tabs on the old air filter, pull it out to loosen it - if that's not easy enough, do not use force. Stop, take a close look at what could be hanging. I have some wires (so hard to see on the back against all that black) just in front of the bottom left corner of the old filter. I had to move it around a bit to get it free and install the filters.
