It's almost too good a seal!
Used this to change my girlfriend's jetta 2.5L 5cyl 2010 mk5 oil. It definitely fits perfectly and almost too tight as I really struggled to get it off when screwing the filter housing back on. I'm sure most of you know that feeling of anxiety when you're done with work, it's dark and you're confronted with some ridiculous catch. Definitely went into panic mode because he was really there! So yes it works.
