Review on 💧 Aquasana 3 Stage Oil Rubbed Filter System: Pure and Clean Water at Your Fingertips by Shawn Quick

The left filter (1st stage) was not originally sealed with the large o-ring that connects the sump to the upper valve assembly. Support didn't send a replacement and insisted I was doing something wrong. I ended up using teflon tape on the threads to stop the leak. Then when the first set of replacement filters arrived, water was not flowing through them. I heard some of them were made too short and therefore didn't include safety valves. I researched and found information about class action lawsuits over canister leaks and problems with sump filters that were too short to operate safety valves. I heard people had to put seals in the bottom of their swamps. I called Aquasana and was shocked to learn that they wanted to charge me (shipping) to send me a new first stage pan assembly that leaked without teflon tape. Also, they wanted me to put a nickel or a quarter in each sump to push the filter up into the relief valve. Why would I put a coin with degradable metals in a water filtration system? At the end of the day I received (3) 1/8 inch thick, 1.5 inch diameter food grade nylon discs at the bottom of each pan. Eventually the water flowed, and much faster than through the first set of filters. The bottom line is that the product has flaws and Aquasana really doesn't bother to fix everything. Either avoid the product altogether or start using nylon washers and Teflon tape as needed. The sad fact is that these products are made in China and the company and contract manufacturer obviously don't care if it works or not! Much luck!
