Review on Efficiently Switch and Power USB-C Keyboard, Mouse, and Peripherals with IOGEAR USB-C 2-Port Switch (GUS4C2), 2x4 by Keith Baker

Revainrating 4 out of 5

EDIT - FIXED! - "GUS4C2 " - I want to disable automatic detection.

****EDIT - FIRMWARE FIX**** I was able to solve my sleep problem by updating the firmware with aten US3342 firmware. This device is identical to this one (I assume it's a rebrand?) and there is a firmware update that fixes this particular issue. Once I applied the firmware, I can easily switch between inputs EVEN WHEN THE OTHER PC IS SLEEPING. I'm keeping the 4 star rating because I still had to make an effort to discover this. Too bad IOGear doesn't have its own firmware to solve this problem. All they have to do is literally post the exact same file on their website. ****This works fine between my gaming PC and MacBook Pro. The only problem is auto-detection or auto-switching or whatever they call it. This is more of a bug than a feature. When the computer you are on goes to sleep, there is no way to switch to another computer (remote, shortcut, etc.) or in my case a MacBook Pro, even if the other computer is active. The choice gets stuck on the PC asleep and doesn't want to turn it off until you wake the PC, switch to a different one, and then put the first PC back to sleep. It's very annoying, but overall it's the only device that offers 4 USB-C KVM ports, so I'll stick with it until an alternative comes along.
