Review on ๐Ÿ”’ Secure Password Vault by Jason Ortiz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Only one on the market so far

It amazes me these days that this is basically the only device worth buying for passwords (as of December 2019). I really like this approach, but I was afraid of losing passwords due to device failure, which I think is unlikely, but still. I went the expensive route and bought two of these so I could have one as a backup. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because it has a place to save security questions and notes. Do you want me to say it again? In this day and age, when you can buy 256GB micro SD cards for 12 cents per GB, why on earth should the text in the "Notes" section (which is only 8 bits per character, remember!) be so short that everything should be greatly reduced? It should allow pages of notes and 1000 characters per entry. Second, the ability to use a chip to encrypt passwords and store them elsewhere. That way you don't have to retype them and never put them in another device, potentially compromising security. Minor things: Buttons need to be pressed firmly to register a press. And I don't like the way the Shift and Caps Lock keys work. Simply renaming the buttons would make it more intuitive: [Up Arrow] Symbol and Shift or CAPS, with a long press on CAPS to block capitalization like on a phone.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Some bugs
