Epic Fail: Office & School Supplies

I ordered this from Revain a while ago and put it in my home office drawer. I finally started using it two weeks ago and was very satisfied. This morning I picked it up and pressed the backlight button. A low battery warning appeared, so I put new batteries in the device. After pressing the power button, the screen remained blank. I've used the stylus to reset the device but still no luck. Only two weeks of use and it already stopped working.

BROKEN AFTER 1 WEEK AND NOW I HAVE LOST ALL MY PASSWORDS

Well that was a big mistake and now I feel like an idiot. I changed all my passwords to complex randomly generated strings and put them here. And then it just stopped working for no reason. The screen is just blank. Pulling out the battery didn't help either. And I can't send it in for repair because if I do that I'm sending the device to China with all my personal information. So basically I screwed it up. DO NOT BUY THIS CRASH.

DEVICE ERRORS

I have been using this device for several years and change the batteries when they are low. I just got a battery alert that has HUNDREDS of important passwords stored in it. I replaced the batteries and now it says "No data". What should I do? If somehow the manufacturer gets my details back I will let you know but I would STAY AWAY from this product. My kids have one too and I will ask them to replace their device immediately and throw away theirs. $120 wasted money on three devices plus the…

I bought it in 2014 and use it.

I bought this in 2014 and have been using it consistently ever since. I don't remember if I had to change the batteries during that period BUT today I got a message saying the batteries were low. I opened it up and put in 3 new AAAs and then to my shock I couldn't turn it back on. I've tried other new batteries and they never turned on, allowing me to enter my passcode. I lost all my saved passwords. I'm sooo mad! I can't find any help for this problem so I think I just screwed it up. I would…

Overpriced scrap

Save money and don't buy. Small: Good, but very difficult to use. Buttons are difficult to use. I'm not a copywriter, but they're crammed into a very small space, not in the usual spot, and tiered. Many characters or punctuation don't seem to exist, so create your mixed key, uppercase, non-capital, digit, character password and then have to start over as it doesn't have much punctuation. So first, start by finding a password that is acceptable to the site and that you can store on it. Finally…

Easy to use and indispensable.

This is a great way to store all your passwords. I feel more secure using a separate device than storing them on my computer via the cloud or anything else. You only have to remember one master password. You enter the master password when you access it. You can then enter the website, username and password. No more hint sheets. You can also enter bank account numbers and credit card account numbers. Two things I needed to understand when I started using it. 1) If you want red punctuation over…

Only one on the market so far

It amazes me these days that this is basically the only device worth buying for passwords (as of December 2019). I really like this approach, but I was afraid of losing passwords due to device failure, which I think is unlikely, but still. I went the expensive route and bought two of these so I could have one as a backup. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because it has a place to save security questions and notes. Do you want me to say it again? In this day and age, when you can buy 256GB micro…

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Some bugs

For our most important passwords, I'm a big fan of offline password management. As of today (December 2017), as far as I can tell, this is the best offline password storage device out there, although it's pretty clunky. I have two of these and so far they have worked well as advertised. But given my concerns/wishes I've also been looking for better alternatives for a number of years with no success so far - but I'll update this review if I ever find it. ADVANTAGES: - Basically does what it…
