I ordered this rug because with our multi-pet household, it's just not practical to invest in anything that isn't stain resistant, highly durable, and unable to be washed. The fact that it is "eco friendly" (it has a recycled cotton/polyester backing) was a plus for me, although its unclear what percentage of the material is recycled.It was hard to tell from the product photos exactly what this "flat weave" rug was going to look like in person. The material isn't textured like a traditionally woven rug and has a semi synthetic feel; that being said it feels of better quality than I would have anticipated from 100% polyester, and it's impossible for our pets to shred it with their nails.The design of the rug isn't actually woven, it appears to be somehow printed into the surface, but from a distance - even a short distance, like when I'm standing on it looking down - it's somewhat convincing. The "Multi" pattern has a soft, faded palette that would look good with a variety of different decor styles and my husband and I are both happy with the way it looks in our bedroom. It would work just as well in our living room or basement.
