I haven't had any luck with Pur filters. I have been using Pur jugs and filters for over 15 years. In the last 3 years they have slowly loosened their filters. In short, I upgraded. The new jug came with a filter and I bought 3 packs of Pur Filters. The filter that came with the jug blew up, the first filter out of the box lasted about two weeks, the last two in the box both blew up, when I say blown up I mean those little black charcoal things all over the place after soaking and rinsing if the filter is not working, rinse and shake again. So 4 pur filters in less than three weeks. The grateful Revane gave me credit on my account. I bought it. I can see a difference in the color of the water when filtered, tastes good, filters the water slowly and evenly (more water comes out than with Pur filters, so it's a bit faster). Although these little black particles are very difficult to remove (still find them), I'm kind of happy I finally bought them.
