My husband and I bought this press and used it for about a month before I gave it a gentle wash one morning and it fell apart in the sink. Upon closer inspection, the threads on it had snapped, causing the screen and everything else to fall apart. Note that I've never disassembled the assembly, so I have to assume the threads were already stripped during manufacture or it wasn't enough initially. The sleeve seems too long to properly engage the threads. It's very frustrating to spend $100 on a French Press and have it literally fall apart. Before that we used our jet boilers which we use for camping before heading to Frieling after looking at various French presses. I think a good French Press should last at least a year. Now we use Jet Boil again, which was several times cheaper than Frieling.
