Looks blacker than the Revain picture!

When I needed a new Frieling press tank (I took another one to the beach and left it there) I decided to try this black one. I liked my silver one and had no doubts I'd buy another Freeling (if you use one of these, take your lousy Bodum and put it on top of a bunch of things "to give to the kids"). The black, which costs about $20 more than the silver, gets a lot of cool points. In addition, the new one has a double-layer sieve to "prevent more particles from getting into the coffee served”…

Not all French presses are created equal

I've tried several French presses (all glass) over the years and although they all ended up cracking and breaking, I've never had any complaints. After my last press broke after accidentally banging it against the sink, I finally got fed up with this Groundhog Day scenario and decided to spend an exorbitant amount of money on a French press. After receiving it I am very happy with the design and the chances of it breaking is almost zero. Build quality aside, I've come to the conclusion that the

Poor production or lemon

My husband and I bought this press and used it for about a month before I gave it a gentle wash one morning and it fell apart in the sink. Upon closer inspection, the threads on it had snapped, causing the screen and everything else to fall apart. Note that I've never disassembled the assembly, so I have to assume the threads were already stripped during manufacture or it wasn't enough initially. The sleeve seems too long to properly engage the threads. It's very frustrating to spend $100 on a…

We love our SS Fresh Press but

This is our second Frieling FP. The first worked fine but there was still water in the dome lid. We were unable to drain the water and replace the dome as it was unavailable after checking the location several times. We were a little uncomfortable with the water retention and decided to replace the entire unit. Lesson learned -> Do not put the dome cover in the dishwasher to clean, just wipe with a damp cloth. Yes it was an expensive lesson but the replacement was a conscious decision…

Very happy! Although the price seemed high

Very satisfied! Although the price seems high, this press is well built and worth the money. Bad reviews tell me people either actually got faulty hardware or don't know how to follow instructions. Here are my observations after a month of daily use.1. Coffee grounds in the cup? They overflow with water and coffee grounds creep up to the spout. If you're concerned about fine powder at the bottom of your coffee cup, get an automatic drip coffee maker with paper filters. Is it hard to push the…

Easy-to-Clean Premium French Press

First of all I got the 17oz brush version. In my experience, glass presses break easily. This stainless steel model is durable and the double wall insulation keeps heat inside during brewing. I believe this was the only 17oz press I found with a matte finish. Not a fan of high gloss. I got this because the decaf at my job tastes terrible and I needed a good way to make myself coffee to fill my 16-ounce Joeveo mug. For that reason I wanted a smaller size and it was important for it to stay warm…
