My husband and I bought this press and used it for about a month before I gave it a gentle wash one morning and it fell apart in the sink. Upon closer inspection, the threads on it had snapped, causing the screen and everything else to fall apart. This is our second Frieling FP. The first worked fine but there was still water in the dome lid. We were unable to drain the water and replace the dome as it was unavailable after checking the location several times. We were a little uncomfortable with the water retention and decided to replace the entire unit. Lesson learned -> Do not put the dome cover in the dishwasher to clean, just wipe with a damp cloth. First of all I got the 17oz brush version. In my experience, glass presses break easily. This stainless steel model is durable and the double wall insulation keeps heat inside during brewing.
