This cable runs from my server room to the next room and runs through the wall and the attic. I previously tested this cable a few days before moving the cable around the house and it worked fine. After installing it worked for 3 months and then stopped working. I checked the power supply that came with the cable and it turned out to be dead. I was able to use a self-powered hub, which seems to be enough to power a keyboard, mouse, and sound card without using a power supply at the end of the cable.
