Tough decision - just didn't do the job I needed to do

I have a Windows 10 Lenovo Flex laptop with USB 2.0 and "large" HDMI inputs. My old Dell monitor is 16:9 like the others, but I usually use 16:9. It has a 9-pin VGA output and a 21-pin HDMI. I wanted the product to use the VGA output and connect it to a USB port (never found one that can connect a 21-pin HDMI port to USB 2.0 or higher HDMI). So I wanted to try this product even though the reviewers seemed to say no. You were right. Do not go. I had to send it back and the company quickly refunded my money.
