Review on πŸ”Œ Convenient Arlo Accessory: Charging Station for Pro, Pro 2 - VMA4400C Compatible by Srinivasan Bennett

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Just bought it, both batteries are charging and not broken (yet)!

Talk about low expectations. After all the horrible reviews of the Pro 2 chargers, I'm hoping to verify their reliability before Revain's 30-day return window ends. I treat him with kid gloves. I carefully connected the charging cable (minimize wear on the micro USB pins) and carefully inserted the two batteries at 60% and both batteries are charging (solid amber)! Charging the first battery took about 1 hour. Hopefully I can update the review after a few reloads. Hey Arlo, why are you trying to make it sexy with a battery spring insert? Simplicity is good (see latest charging station Pro 3/Ultra). And why does the Pro 2 station cost more? Yes, the Pro 3/Ultra station is simpler. Oddly enough, it's also more reliable. Okay, so it didn't go through the first reload without problems. We're speaking straight out of the box. A battery is typically charged in 1 hour. The other battery was still yellow after another hour. He pulled it out and put it in the camera and reports a 100 percent charge. Pulled it out of the camera and tried a different charging port. still amber. The Arlo community forum mentions that the charging dock fully charges the battery while the camera only charges 80%, even though it reports 100%. The battery charged by the charging station takes longer to drop below 100%. I have raised my rating to 4 stars. It charges both batteries (though perhaps unevenly) and gives you 20% more power than charging the camera. He hasn't screwed it up yet, so fingers crossed.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons

Doesn’t work. Simple as that.

Charges great, but a design flaw causes the station to fall apart

Netger Arlo is a great idea but their quality control on hardware is horrendous
