Review on πŸš— Efficient 300W Pure Sine Wave Power Inverter for Car: DC 12V to AC 120V Converter with Dual USB Ports by Jason Cho

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The pro forma is good, but the chassis is offset slightly.

Performance: I installed this operation on two diesel car batteries with a 16awg adapter. On the AC side, I ran a 20 foot thick extension cord to my computer's UPS with a built in AC meter. My UPS accepted it as a secure power source for transmission to my computer, capable of powering both devices and also charging the UPS batteries. When first plugged in, the load was about 260W and then dropped to 200W as the UPS batteries charged. The frequency was exactly 60 most of the time. Once it was something around 0.03 I think. The voltage will fluctuate a bit between 117 and 122, but those are safe ranges for most things, as far as I know. The fan won't turn on unless it gets hot or draws more than 100 watts, but I'm not sure if that's true. I turned off the fan for a few seconds and let it run at 200 watts. The fan is pretty quiet when it's on, and when it's off there's no way of knowing if it's running other than a faint light from the front. It doesn't buzz or what it's connected to. Aesthetic: It's a metal box, which is fine, but the end caps to the box are slightly misaligned, with the bottom of the end caps having a ridge and the top being slightly shorter. The switch and AC ports are slightly misaligned, but you can easily reattach them yourself as they are not directly connected to the board. Blackboard. The circuit board snaps easily into place, but looks bad visually and can render the USB ports unusable. Also, 16 AWG wire isn't strong enough. The cable got very hot. I have 11 AWG wire, that should do the trick.

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
