Most owners of Bunn commercial coffee makers are unaware that their machines are designed to brew coffee at suboptimal temperatures. After a series of lawsuits about people burning themselves on hot coffee, Bunn lowered the maximum brewing temperature to just under, or most of the time, the recommended 195-205F. Designed for the Bunn tea brewer, this thermostat has a maximum setting of 206F so you can set the temperature where it needs to be. It is significantly more powerful than the thermostat installed on my Bunn VP17, but thanks to the original bracket it fits perfectly.
