Review on SMALLRIG CCS2493: High-Quality Cage for Sony Alpha A6600/ILCE 6600 Mirrorless Camera with Cold Shoe Mounts by Derrick Lowell

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The analysis reports that the cell is blocking the battery compartment.

Many consumers report that the cell is blocking the battery compartment. This is partly true, because if the camera is placed correctly in the cage, as the average consumer would, there is a significant chance that the portion of the cage once installed will block the opening of the battery door. I've since found that it's pretty much down to the cage, which only relies on two points of contact with the camera to attach it to the frame. With two points of contact, there's room for error when it comes to over-tightening or over-tightening the frame in front of the camera. both will cause the chamber door to jam. I recommend a two-fold recommendation: A) If SmallRig included a washer for the top right screw, it would eliminate this possibility and eliminate the flex/pivot potential. B) For customers who have already purchased a cage and would rather have it now rather than later, you can purchase or add a 1mm thick 2.5mm washer.
