Review on Renewed Garmin Vívofit 2 Activity Tracker in Black - No Ant Stick Included by Omar Chavez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Vivofit2 = excellent; Garmin CS is terrible.

First, the Vivofit2 itself gets 4.5 stars. My refurbished unit looks brand new and is working great so far. Great way to save money! Garmin customer service gets zero stars. I emailed them when I was initially having trouble creating an account (without the group being just a pedometer) and they completely ignored me, but they had the nerve to send out a survey in which they were asked to rate their customer service! Completely and utterly useless. Coming back to the tracker itself, one of the most common complaints is that sometimes it doesn't record every step, but it does record activities like brushing your teeth or washing your hair. As one reviewer pointed out, it's better to think of it as a unit of movement than expecting it to record every step perfectly. If you're training for IronMan or the Olympics, you need a better tracker. If you're like me and just need a little nudge to get moving and you're interested in looking at some basic, general stats for health assessments, you can't go wrong with this tracker for the price. I love that I don't have to remove it and the battery lasts so long, plus it's fun to hit the daily goals it sets based on your activity (or lack thereof). I have pretty sensitive skin and it doesn't bother me at all even when it's wet from the shower. I've never had an issue with a button/bar not working or being hard to press. For those who had problems, make sure your tracker is properly installed in the bracelet. It took a little while to get the sides seated properly, but I had no problems after that initial adjustment. If you have trouble turning off sync, remove the tracker and place it next to your phone. The first sync will take some time, because not only will you tweak the settings, but you'll also get a firmware update. I synced it once or twice a week and it works fine. Of course, "calories burned" is a rough estimate. If you have a major health issue that depends on keeping track of every calorie you consume or consume, this probably won't work for your needs. The red pubic stripe is a great motivator! Going indoors doesn't always cleanse, so a friend and I came up with a little dance that gets our blood pumping and resets the inactivity timer. The idea is to be more conscious of my body and move, and this tracker helps me do that. The beep is not very loud. I like it when there is a back light. I wear it around my ankle and once laced it into a running shoe to count steps on the treadmill (or you can use a stopwatch to record activity). I like my Vivofit2 very much. It's not perfect, but it was affordable and more than met my needs.
