Great soap but poor packaging and product differences - shame

- Update September 2019 - We have tested several other brands and none were better than this dishwashing liquid so we ordered directly from the seller. Manufacturer. We are pleased to report that the vials are leak-proof and odorless; However, we won't increase the overall rating because that shouldn't be a problem. HOLD, PLEASE IMPROVE THE QUALITY CHECK AND SEAL YOUR PRODUCT! — Update June 2018 — After many bottles and almost three years of using this product, we are discarding it and looking for a replacement. The security seal is still missing and too often the product has arrived with the lid open and soap all over the bag (see comments from other reviewers too). Some newer bottles also contained soap, which had an odd minty smell, despite being labeled as a fragrance-free option. If a security seal is ever added and manufacturing inconsistencies corrected we will happily use this product again - again the soap itself is excellent. In the meantime, if we find another product that we're happy with, we'll post the information here. - Original review below - We have tried many different 'natural' liquid soaps and were unhappy with all of them - until a little over a year ago another review pointed us towards an Attitude baby bottle and liquid dish soap. Don't let the product name fool you; This soap is ideal for regular dishwashing. We have used several bottles over the past year and to date have had no issues with the product. If you've read reviews of any of the safer [controversial] soaps (e.g. Healthy Cleaning) you've probably come across comments that they don't produce as much lather as say Dawn or Joy. ; that's right. However, we found this product to produce the most lather and break down fat better than any other product we've tried (and we've tested about half a dozen from the EWG list). is a great feat for a "natural" soap, other benefits are that this soap has no odor, washes clean off hands (but note it is smooth to the touch, like soft water) and (in our opinion ) works fine. like baby/toddler hand soap on the kitchen sink. When we're not using this soap, we use Whole Foods 365 Glycerine Bar Hand Wash, which contains only coconut/palm oil and glycerin. If you are interested. A few things to note about this product. 1) In 2015 we contacted the manufacturer about the lack of preservatives in this soap (natural or otherwise), fearing that it might be contaminated in our environment. - a counting bottle for our pump installed on the counter (little hands manage to collect any liquid on the pump). They said that since the pH of the soap is above 10, no preservatives are needed. To avoid possible, although unlikely, contamination, we rinse the pump bottle between refills and do not use the product container directly. That being said, this is probably an unnecessary precaution for most. 2) The packaging is sometimes damaged and there is no protective seal on it. It usually comes in a large ziploc bag or sometimes a sealed bag, but this has changed with each order. At least once it was all over with soap. Therefore, in line with point 1 above, I am concerned that the product may be contaminated before it arrives. The manufacturer can easily fix this by putting a security seal on their product. We have no idea why they didn't and that's the only thing stopping this product from getting 5 stars with blue letters (seen in some test photos). We're not sure if this is a coincidence (maybe they make bottles in both pink and blue) or if pink is the new label color for the product. Otherwise this product is great!
