I put this aside for a while to really test it out. Until I bought this knife set, I always bought $10-$20 fillet knives that I saw at Walmart or sporting goods stores. I've been buying cheap fillet knives for years and so far they've worked. I always thought trimming my catch would be harder than it should have been. I've always struggled with "cheap" knives, no matter how much I sharpened them. Since I've been fishing lately, I've decided to research and buy the best fillet knife. Like many others, my research has led me to watch tons of YouTube videos and read all the Revain reviews. Sure, there are plenty of great reviews, but many of the knives I've seen cost more per knife than the entire set. So I decided to buy this set (it cost $48 at the time). I'm happy to report that these knives cut through fish like a hot knife through butter and produce very clean and tidy fillets. I was even able to carefully trim the skin off the pompano without wasting any meat. For me, this is one of those purchases that I'm so excited about, I want to call all my fishing buddies and tell them to buy it. There's no point in going out and buying a $50-$60 knife unless it's really excellent quality. But with this set, you get great quality and four knives for less than $50. If this set was lost or damaged I would buy another immediately regardless of other brands. In fact, I'm considering buying a second set to keep one in the boat and the other in the garage.
