I've worked with a lot of very expensive high quality mics in my time so be aware this kit costs around $20! My expectations are adjusted accordingly: - Good facilities; small stand, shock mount, pop screen and large cable. There's even better middle management out there. The sound from the microphone was very pleasant; much less shrill/papery highs, which is normal with cheaper electret condenser tubes, and deeper bass than I expected. In fact, without the shock mount, there would be a lot of rumble. It's not overly prone to "popping", but the screen makes things better. As I said, a cardioid with a decent backswing in the mids and highs, but less in the bass. The volume control on the base changes the mic output, NOT the headphones (from what I've seen). I've found that "rolling back" from full by a "flip" or two gives a good level in zoom, skype etc with no distortion. Plugging in headphones (at the base) allowed me to hear my own voice with no delay, and the return/audio out page on the PC allowed you to hear other participants online. Or scratch that karaoke itch if you like. It all seems pretty solid, but handle it carefully, it's a mic, not a wrench! The shock mount screws onto most standard threaded microphone stands. A little experimentation with the settings should give you the results you want. I recommend getting a small built-in headphone volume control (if you don't already have one). This will shorten your on-screen settings.
