Review on πŸ”₯ Aero Pure AP 270 A 270W Heat Bulb: Efficient and Powerful Heating Solution by Dustin Wheeler

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Overpriced and blew 2 bulbs after only a few months of use

I had one of these Aero Pure heater/fan combo bulbs (2 bulbs) installed in December 2020. wanted to buy two more but found you can only use their custom Aero Pure 270W bulb (AP 270A). Aero Pure insists that a bulb of a different size or wattage cannot be used and any attempt to do so will void the warranty. In the meantime, 2 light bulbs have already burned out in the device, although we practically did not use the heating pad in the warm season (almost the whole year). Now we're looking for $30 for a lightbulb?! Earlier this year, they cost "only" $17 a piece. That doesn't give me much hope for the long-term viability of this device. Before I can recommend Aero Pure heat lamps, Aero Pure must: 1) improve the quality and durability of your lamp OR lower the price to less than $15. per bulb (comparable to BR40 bulb) OR Find a standard bulb that will also fit. 2) Offer or specify a lower wattage bulb that can be used (BR30, BR40, etc.). 270W x2 or x4 is really undesirable in warmer weather when it would be nice to have a bright light but in a cooler, less powerful LED or Incandescent floodlight.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
