I put them on my son's new off-road bike to protect the levers when I put them on. I noticed before that the throttle was sticking, 2022 model with less than an hour on this unfortunately I just said to be careful the throttle is sticking now which may or may not be related to those bar end mounted guards but the throttle didn't get stuck, before the bar and guards were installed. It crashed and the guards flipped up, potentially damaging the levers. They are great for blocking small branches and leaves but are not stable as they protect the front end from bark to protect levers and hands.
