It has metal poles that you connect with plastic connectors and cover with an awning. You can zip it up and it has multiple flaps on the side and back for power cords and ventilation. It definitely helped reduce the smoke in the house but didn't really help reduce the noise. However, the main reason for 3 stars is that the price is so high that I don't recommend it. That's four times more expensive than the next most expensive competitor and doesn't explain why at all. It has no properties that justify it. In fact, a few wands would not even connect and fell apart. I had to assemble them upside down to keep them in place, so the basic workmanship didn't even justify the higher price. There is absolutely no reason to choose this case over a cheaper option.
