We bought two of these gates to keep our labs away from the bedrooms while we are at work. They are very cute and easily entered the porches. Robust construction. We didn't use the door squeeze guards because they had to be screwed into the jam itself if the tie rods holding the entire rig were strong enough. Again, we're using these for dogs, not babies, so this step was overkill for our needs. The reviews here aren't wrong, the decals were a pain. I discovered this when installing the first so I removed the decal from the second gate while it was unassembled to make things easier. I sealed it with a piece of tape and quickly ripped it off to remove the shiny part. This exposed the glue, which I then soaked in the Goo-Gone. Leave it on for five minutes, then scrape off whatever you can. Glue is just crazy to the next level and still leaves a sticky, gooey residue that won't budge. I couldn't leave it like this because it would just attract dog fur like a snap. I added boiling water which dissolved it enough for the washcloth to wipe off completely, completely ruining the washcloth. The funny thing is that the other sticker on the device (that says leave a gap when reassembling) fell off the key fob! Again, this is much easier if the disassembled gate is on a flat surface. I applied the first one before realizing the decal was going to be such a colossal pain in the neck. Despite the hassle and curses of the glue gods, the goal is worth it. They look great and keep my dogs out of places they shouldn't be when we're not home.
