Absolute crap for fish and aquatic animals

I was very excited to finally get to the point where I was willing to shell out that amount of money for just a test set, but a set that does it would be easier, faster and give more accurate results, I mean it's what you would expect from a $260 test kit compared to good Regent test kits like the Red Sea brand for a fraction of the cost. I was very disappointed to find out that running the same test multiple times rarely gives the same result, the variance is not a decimal fraction or 1 part per million but only a few or even up to 15 parts per million, although the procedure is the same is thorough. follows. The final nail in the coffin was the N03 test which gave 4 different results: 24, 27, 31, 38 which is very contradictory and since you are testing a reef aquarium where the recommended values are in decimals what can you tell about it? That's not all, I decided to test N03 with a Red Sea Regent test I bought just a few weeks ago and in fact it doesn't read 0ppm again which I do given the care I take have given, had expected the aquarium. Glad I tested with the Red Sea as I was in the process of charging my RO/DI water which also showed 27ppm with the accurate Idip. I couldn't believe the filter cartridges weren't as old as I actually tested with the Red Sea. 0ppm . Now you can say I might have a bad kit, block, etc. However, google and check other forums and see for yourself that there are many similar problems out there. Don't waste your money, buy yourself a Red Sea marine kit. If you don't test often and don't know what you're doing, you know where your parameters are.

Pros
  • Fish and aquatic animals
Cons
  • Good, but not great
