My pit bull (Stan) scares people all the time. He is a large boy (115 pounds) and suffers from the reputation of his breed. The situation was complicated by the fact that the only collar that fit me was a black leather collar with spikes. I had people crossing the street to avoid us. But now Stan gets the cuddles he craves from other dog walkers, and he gets to sniff other dogs more often, too. I don't attach his leash to the collar (it's the one that just slips over his head), I just attach his pendants to the D-ring. I think the collar is suitable for attaching a leash. Now I need one for my Cocker Spaniel labeled "Trash".
