I will never go back to a regular hydrometer. I got frustrated trying to read small numbers while the bubbles stuck and flooded the view. I had to take large samples, the hydrometer reached the bottom because I didn't get enough samples, extra parts to disinfect, etc. Not the funnest part of my brewing day. Now I just disinfect the small test lamp that came with it, put a few drops on the glass and I can see my SG as bright as day. Now I'm really looking forward to this part of my bridal day. Note that not all fractometers have SG, only Brix. So if you brew beer, make sure you get one that does it. Otherwise you need to calculate the conversion. What I ordered makes it very easy. Easy calibration with distilled water.
