I finally got tired of the CPU fan noise and bought this cooler. In a word, it's amazing. My processor is as cool as ever (maybe even cooler) with negligible noise levels. It works great. It should be noted that this is not a simple "unplug the old cooler, plug in the new" setup. This involves unscrewing the existing cooler bracket from the motherboard and installing a new bracket with a couple of screws from the bottom of the motherboard. If your case doesn't give you full access to the area under the processor on the back, you'll need to remove the motherboard from the case to install it (like I did). If you originally built your PC, you should be fine; If you're scared of taking your PC apart, then this cooler isn't for you.
