I've owned a Kirby Upright for forty years and I've been resilient. But it's not comfortable to move around, and I've bought a couple of Dyson wearables based on TV ads and the like. I really liked the flexibility of the cordless vacuum cleaner. I didn't like the small container and all the dust when emptying. They were good for small cleaning projects, but I was never satisfied with them as my main home vacuum. When one of the vacuums stopped working I called customer service and they said I could get a 20% discount on a new vacuum. So I searched the internet for the best vacuum cleaner. Miele's ratings were always good and the price was often criticized. Anywhere between $400 and $1600 for a Miele. As a result, I bought the most expensive of all models. Can't tell you about the cheaper models but I'm so glad I bought this with all the whistles. What a quiet vacuum cleaner. The canister is so light and maneuverable that I no longer use the Dyson. The HEPA function is perfect. I smelled a bad odor from Dyson and it was HEPA. The switch on the handle is a great feature and you can use it multiple times during a normal session. I got the best of all worlds with this model. I had to plan more when vacuuming the floor and it took so much getting used to. But after using Miele's suggestions, I've learned to love the vacuum cleaner even more. Good product. Cleans carpet very noticeably and will not damage expensive carpets if used correctly. Last weekend I used a Miele in a pickup. Yes, it was a bit heavier than the Dyson, but once I started vacuuming pet hair and dirt I was so glad I bought an actual vacuum and not a toy or gimmick. Today I buy additional splitting tools. I don't normally do product reviews, but I'm so happy to recommend this product that I've taken the time to write a glowing recommendation.
