I haven't had the ride long enough to write a proper review but felt I could help by clarifying a few points. #1, there is NO power button on this drive. To the person who says it, did you actually look at the manual and/or hit the button? It's not the power supply, it's the Maxtor One Touch button. Maybe you have a different model. And to whoever claimed that the drive isn't USB 2.0, sorry, but that's absolutely not true. Drive 2.0 is backward compatible with 1.x. To get 2.0 performance, you need a USB 2.0 port on your computer! They put a star on the box to let you know that if you have 1.1 and want to upgrade to 2.0 they will sell you a card (PCI USB 2.0). I'm sure you were disappointed when you realized that your computer only has a USB 1.x port and you have to buy something extra. But a fair amount (I would say most) of people know that to get USB 2.0 speeds you need a USB 2.0 port. If a company sells you a UDMA 133 IDE drive and you are using UDMA 66 or 100, the speed will be reduced until you upgrade your IDE. The person said he replaced it with a Western Digital Drive, but if that box hadn't come with a USB 2.0 PCI card the results would be the same. I've had the drive for 1 week, so far it seems good and the USB 2.0 level transfer speeds are good. hope it lasts
