Review on 🔧 KYB KG54335 Gas-aJust Gas Shock, Silver and White by Albert Gaines

Typical KYB quality

I'm a big fan of KYB shock absorbers and struts. They have been fitted to every car and truck I have had since the original shock absorbers expired. KYB represents the best value for money shock absorbers on the market. They may not be the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. Excellent build and ride quality. On my 2006 Tundra I found it easier to get to the top nut and top brackets under the rear fender well above the tire. Trying to reach it from below is difficult and you're working blindly. When removing old shock absorbers, remove the plastic protector protecting the exposed shaft and clamp a pair of vises onto the shaft to hold it while you remove the top nut. The shaft will be damaged, but that doesn't matter. When installing new housings, hold the new housing with your hand while tightening the nut. Be careful when installing the new bushing and washers from the top. There is a specific order in which they must be recorded. One of the rubber bushings has a lip that should match the washer.

Pros
  • Automotive
Cons
  • Ok for the most part, but...
