Nut is missing could not assemble

I bought this 16 inch bike for a 6 year old who was asking for a bike through the Salvation Army's Angel Tree program. was destroyed on Black Friday I decided to order it online to avoid the physical trip to Walmart to shop for a bike and find a limited selection. After researching the many different options on Revain I noticed that that there were many of them. Reports of paint scratches, sometimes missing nuts and other parts, but I decided to take the risk anyway. The connection between the front wheel and the frame was missing. The bike was delivered in the middle of the working week so we didn't get a chance to put the bike together until Saturday when the Angel Tree gifts were due. So we rushed to the hardware store before heading to the mall to put the bike down, but all the different nuts we tried didn't fit properly and we couldn't finish the bike. So I had to rush to Walmart on a Saturday afternoon and fight the crowds to buy another bike and a matching helmet to fulfill this kid's wish. After speaking to a Walmart guy who assembled his bikes, I found out why the nuts we found at the hardware store didn't fit - since these bikes are all made in China, the nuts are metric and we need one similarly large metric find mother. Pooh! I now have an extra bike with a missing nut that I can keep until next year if I can find a suitable nut.
