Very small gauge wire

I understand these are low-voltage lights, And don’t require a large gauge wire to operate.
However, I am running this with a 300 W transformer and that requires 12 gauge wire… The difference in the wire is so great, it makes it a little hard to connect. After trial and error of ruining two lights, I got the hang of how to install.
