Review on πŸ”© ProTech Fasteners: Unleash the Power of CAMO Edge Deck Screws! by Michael Hughes

Screws work very well with the CAMO tool

They work very well with the CAMO tool. I have installed composite decking over pressure treated lumber and it has worked very well. With the CAMO tool and these screws, no slotted boards are needed. They were easy to install using the CAMO tool, which inserts these screws through the side of the deck at an angle, making them almost invisible once installed. The deck is already 2 years old and all screws are still tight. I also used them to install the patio starter layer near the house (couldn't use the CAMO tool very close to the house), screw right into the patio and they are invisible and hold in place. Additionally, they can be installed in hard-to-reach places where the CAMO tool cannot be used by pre-drilling an angled hole in the side of the deck at the same angle as the CAMO tool. I've done this on several decking boards, but it's important to pre-drill the correct diameter hole so the head of these screws will hold the deck in place without chipping the decking.

Pros
  • Use Edge ProTech coated screws with Pro, Pro-X1, Pro-NB and Edge Guides
Cons
  • Have been damaged
