I bought it, like many people, because YouTube videos said it was a good alternative to the standard photonic mono camera, which had a patented (and I've read and heard rare) FEP replacement with overpriced ones . didn't know about the recycled pad until it arrived. After it arrived I read the bad reviews criticizing it but opened it up to look at the included FEP to see if anything could be done and now I agree with other reviewers who say that they couldn't press down hard on your FEP. the ideal frequency is within 333 Hz. By the way, the FEPs that are installed on these Sovol containers have a protective film that must be removed first, so you need to unscrew the screws and take out the FEP, remove the film, and then put it back put in the pool. before you have to remove that with the film, it measured 190 hz. After removing and even loosening the screws, the frequency was only 160Hz, which is much lower than it should be. If you are wondering why this is so important, you may have problems with prints sticking to FEP and other problems caused by FEP being either too tight or too loose creating the wrong peel force. BTW, if you receive these and decide to use them and notice scratches or bubbles on the FEP that appear to be caused by a piece of dirt stuck between two layers of plastic, this is a screen protector. You need to remove the gasket, remove the foil and put back the FEP with the gasket. I've seen at least one bad review about their FEP being scratched. If I had to guess, they didn't know the protective film was still on. After I removed mine the one I did it with had no scratches and the FEP looked very nice and clean. They didn't tell me anything about the protective film, I had to find out for myself. I initially thought it was due to poor assembly quality control, but it makes sense to protect it during shipping. When I removed the spacer and looked at the holes that were originally punched to fit the pins and screws, they were super stretched and yet the FEP still couldn't get the correct tension. I wonder if he'll ever get the tension right even with more travel, or if he'll just tear holes before that happens. I think this design is just fundamentally flawed because instead of compressing the plate hard from all sides and pulling evenly around the entire perimeter like the alternative two-piece sandwich gasket design works, it relies on stretching those holes to to create tension. Another great benefit of a multi-layer gasket is that you can change the tension before you even screw it into the vat, by placing something like a milk jug lid under the plate while you tighten the gasket, or by using something smaller or even something placing nothing if you want to tighten. It's a significantly smaller clutch, as I and many other bad reviewers have said, fails to create any real tension. maybe if you used a really thick FEP, but even then I don't think that would work because it needs to be thick around the holes but thin in the places where you really want it to stretch, which doesn't exist . as far as I know. If you want to know what the original Sovol container looked like before the pointless redesign, the Elegoo Mars ladles are obviously compatible with the Anycubic Photon Mono and have a two-piece sandwich seal. The only significant difference is that they are just anodized aluminum and not teflon coated like these and only have a max fill line and no ml lines, but that doesn't make much of a difference if your prints keep coming out order since FEP too is loose. You can get two of these for the same price as two of these Sovol kegs. At the time of writing this article, the Amazon listing is: ELEGOO 2 PCS Metal Resin Tank for ELEGOO Mars 3D Printer with Preinstalled FEP and 2 Caps and 2 Hex Keys, Resin Tank for ELEGOO Mars, Mars pro, Mars 2, Mars 2 pro, Photon and Epax X1i will be shipping these Sovol tubs back to Amazon tomorrow afternoon and I have already ordered elegoo tubs to replace them. I'm glad I couldn't even waste time or tar getting them to work as my printer doesn't arrive until the end of the week. save yourself the headache. maybe they would have worked fine but I've only heard complaints about the way this redesigned version is described, I've never heard anything like it about two piece sandwich gaskets so I think it's fair to say it's just a safer one Use is of your time and money to stay away from it unless they bring back the old block and liquidate the old stock of this new 2021 block not working.
