These boots are good but narrower than Sorel and not as warm. My 4 year old complained of cold feet in 20F weather. They say they are rated at -40. I don't know if it's because they're too narrow or another design. I had him in the Sorel in the backcountry all last winter in Colorado and he never complained even when it was under 0. I compared the construction and the Sorel has a felt cork insole and the Kamik has nothing over the rubber sole. The lining of the Kamik is made of polyester with the addition of Thinsulate and Sorel felt. I tried to save $20 and ended up paying another $60 because I couldn't find a Sorel for sale anywhere. If you live in a cold area and your kids go outside often, this might not work for you.
