We put these directly in my 9 yo’s soccer cleats. They are very comfortable and allowed him to comfortably play 3 full soccer games this weekend.The picture shows them directly on the foot. My so. Said this is uncomfortable and sweaty. We put them in the shoe and then put his socked foot into the shoe.The biggest negative is the sides don’t stick well to the side of the cleat/shoe. So it is tough to get the foot in without curling down the sides. Each time my son puts on each shoe I need to stick my finger down in each shoe and pull the sides back up.Once all wrangled and arranged, they worked great for him. Although it provided cushion there is not a thick lift which is great to be able to engage in sports.I Wanted to add an important realization to my review. I stayed that they curled down when my son put his foot in his cleat. Solution: place a soft credit card or shoe horn on the back of the pad to keep the sides from curling in. Works wonderfully! And I increase my rating!Without the assistance of the soft card or shoe horn they do curl in when you slip your foot in.
