I use it on patrol with a Motorola radio. I like that the dispatcher can tell me if the contact I'm speaking to has a warrant even if they don't hear it. I attach a metal clip to the vest's shoulder strap under my shirt and leave it on the vest at all times. Sometimes they go outside, but it costs money to keep them ready for use in my work locker. I would say the average lifespan of a single device is 3 months in my experience. I will continue to order them unless I hear something better for the same price.
