If a professional headset mic (like my Shure SM35-XLR) gets a 10/10, then the wireless ModMic has a solid 8/10 on sound quality. In comparison, the BEST Logitech Headset Mic has a 3/10 for sound quality. We are talking about such a leap in quality. Sounds fantastic. There is absolutely no reason to buy Logitech, SteelSeries or any other wireless gaming headset now that this thing is here. Seriously, just buy a quality pair of open-back wireless headphones (recommended below), attach the Wireless ModMic to them and get the best wireless gaming headset with the best sound and headset mic in a relatively cheap pair, that you can't get anywhere else. If you think that buying a $120 wireless microphone and $200 wireless headphones is too much, you should think about it. When you buy a gaming headset and the headphones run out of power, you need to replace the entire headphone. When the microphone on the headset fails, which is usually the first thing that happens (my Logitech G933 only lasted 18 months, which is the normal life cycle for all my wired gaming headsets), you'll need to replace the entire headset. With Wireless ModMic, you only replace the failed device, not the entire device. Also, this mic has no moving parts, so it won't get damaged like most gaming mics. All my Sennheiser headphones last 3-5 years. In the long run you save more money and get a better sound setup. As for the headphones to pair them with, I recommend open-back headphones, as there's no way to get background noise with zero latency (i.e., being able to control or hear your voice through the headphones) with the ModMic. With the headphones open, you can hear your own voice. I use the Sennheiser HDR 185 wireless headphones. You can buy the Sennheiser open-back headphones without a base separately, and then buy the Sennheiser RS 175 RF, which is a closed-back headphone and base version that adds an extra feature or two to a regular station . not bundled with HDR 185 (mostly bass boost). The RS 175 RF base station and headphone system connects to the HDR 185 headphones and multicasts to both headphones, allowing two people to listen from the same base station at the same time. The ModMic comes with an extra mount so you can use your ModMic with two sets of headphones. So whenever I want to listen to music in a closed case for soundproofing, or in an open case to hear my own voice, a station and two headphones work just fine. That. Never buy a wireless gaming headset again. This is the best handy wireless microphone I've ever used. I've even tried wireless lavalier mics in the past. It sort of worked, but having the transmitter in your pocket is a pain, and the $300 RodeLink had too much hiss in the background. For those two reasons, I've stopped using wireless headphones and a lavalier mic for quality calls. Yes, I have thought and tried everything to solve the problem of gaming headsets with crappy microphones and the Wireless ModMic solved this problem once and for all.
