Description of 🎧 ModMic Wireless - Boom Microphone for Headphones by Antlion Audio - Compatible with Windows, Mac, Linux, PS4/PS5, USB-A Devices

KEEP YOUR HEADPHONES, ADD A MIC - The ModMic Wireless by Antlion Audio is an attachable microphone for over-ear or on-ear headphones. You can turn your favorite headphones into a headset. The ModMic attaches with a magnet, remove the mic when you're on the go or add a magnet to multiple headsets for an easy mic switch. SUPERIOR AUDIO QUALITY - The ModMic uses Qualcomm aptX Low Latency to deliver a sample rate that has 5X higher quality than a standard Bluetooth headset. With a latency of only 34ms, the lightning fast studio quality sound is ideal for competitive play and streaming. DUAL MIC MODES - Toggle between a uni-directional, noise-canceling microphone mode to filter out noise around you, OR a more responsive omni-directional recording mode when the highest quality is preferred (16 bit, 48khz). Press the button for a quick mute option. WORK & PLAY - The ModMic's flexibility makes it perfect for gamers or streamers that don't want to choose between great headphone audio and lousy microphone audio or vice-versa. Use with applications such as Skype, Ventrilo, Discord, Hangouts, and more. COMPATIBILITY - Seamlessly connects with Windows PCs, Macs running OS X, Linux distributions, and PlayStation 4. Attach to any over-ear or on-ear headphones including wired, wireless, and Bluetooth. (Device needs a USB receiver to be compatible - cannot directly connect to phones or tablets).

If a professional headset mic (like my Shure SM35-XLR) gets a 10/10, then the wireless ModMic has a solid 8/10 on sound quality. In comparison, the BEST Logitech Headset Mic has a 3/10 for sound quality. We are talking about such a leap in quality. Sounds fantastic. There is absolutely no reason to buy Logitech, SteelSeries or any other wireless gaming headset now that this thing is here. Seriously, just buy a quality pair of open-back wireless headphones (recommended below), attach the…

Not for my headphones.

Pros: - Wireless - Swivel microphone - Easy to set up and use - Clear indicators for mute, charging, and power status - Offers unidirectional and omnidirectional recording Cons: - USB wireless receiver LED keeps flashing when the microphone is switched off . Can be disruptive when in sight. The gray sticky pads holding the magnet to the lenses didn't want to stick/stay on my AKG K712 Pro headphones. I followed the instructions: I cleaned the area, taped it and left it for 24 hours…

Pros
  • DUAL MIC MODES. Switch between a unidirectional noise-cancelling microphone mode to filter out ambient noise, or a more sensitive omnidirectional recording mode that prefers the highest quality (16-bit, 48kHz). Press the button to quickly mute the sound.
Cons
  • Damaged

Practical microphone Mod

This is the second mod mic I've ever used, I didn't like the cables on the old mod mic. The fancy mics are still a bit new to me, I never used them until I recently upgraded my audio system for my PC. I wanted to start with a new setup, mainly for durability reasons (headphones + separate microphone), instead of traditional headsets. Because of the seamless wireless connection and magnets, this is by far the most comfortable mic I've ever used. Micro USB Charging Cable (5ft) - USB Extension…

Buying the first generation usually comes with some limitations.

Update 10/12/2020: Just an update, still works. The only problem I've had since I've had it is that the longer the mic is off and charging, it turns on forever, almost like it's dead, but constantly pressing the button turns it on eventually. IMPORTANT UPDATE 28.3.2019! The useless idiots at Microsoft who didn't come out of the box released a buggy update sometime after I posted this review. The sound quality is reduced to that of an old phone, which sounds really awful. Simply using the normal
