Practical microphone Mod

This is the second mod mic I've ever used, I didn't like the cables on the old mod mic. The fancy mics are still a bit new to me, I never used them until I recently upgraded my audio system for my PC. I wanted to start with a new setup, mainly for durability reasons (headphones + separate microphone), instead of traditional headsets. Because of the seamless wireless connection and magnets, this is by far the most comfortable mic I've ever used. Micro USB Charging Cable (5ft) - USB Extension Cable for USB Dongle (3ft, 4in) - Carrying Case with Zipper - 2 Magnetic Bottom Clips - 2 Sticky Round Pads - 1 Sticky Cable Holder (for your USB extension cable) cable, if you decide to use it (?)) - User Guide / Pro Tip Sheet - "Read This!" Installation GuidePro: 1. You only need to pair your device once. For example, if you restarted the computer for an update or whatever, the microphone and its USB dongle will be automatically reconnected and ready to use, and you don't have to do anything else.2. Wireless magnetic connection. Because the microphone is wireless with a magnetic connection, you can easily remove it and attach it to any metal surface near you. For example your own PC case, metal bars on or near your desk, etc. I think this is useful in situations where you don't want to carry a microphone, e.g. B. If you're eating at your desk and you don't want to mess up your microphone? All you have to do is take it off and clip it somewhere near you, when you're done eating or whatever, you can just take it over and put it back on your headphones.3. Use while charging. You can also use the microphone while charging, for this reason I recommend anyone who has a microphone to place it on the right side of the headphones. So if the charging port is facing down, it would be a bit awkward if the cable was up and that could end up bending and damaging the cable connection. But the mic also comes with a 12-hour rechargeable battery, so you're unlikely to run into any charging issues while using it, but bugs can occur and sometimes we forget to charge it. So it's a good idea to think ahead in case.4. Excellent voice quality. All my friends say that my voice is much clearer than before when I used headphones. The microphone can be set to "1ch 16bit 48000Hz" in the sound settings.5. Plug & Play - No software installation required, just plug and play.6. Really long battery life - Of course. Cons (rather "Could be improved" or just an inconvenience): 1. The mute button requires some pressure. The mute button, located between the three indicators on the microphone, needs to be pressed with some force. You can't just lightly press the button to turn off the sound. If there is a pressure level between 1 and 10, where 1 is a very light touch and 10 is enough pressure to press the entire head before it activates, I would say it's around 7.2. Really strong, adjustable microphone cable. The adjustable wire between (not sure what to call it) the three lights and the mic itself on the front, it's a really solid piece of wire/tube which is good but a little TOO harsh. The magnets that hold the microphone in place are strong enough to hold it in place, but not strong enough to withstand external pressure, such as your hand. Therefore, if you want to adjust the position of the microphone, you must use both hands, otherwise you will accidentally push the microphone itself away and fall off. Neutral: 1. Microphone Status - 3 lights on the microphone indicate Connected (Blue), Disconnected (Red) and Charging (Yellow). You can't see the status of your microphone unless you pull it out and look at it or at the USB stick (e.g. no sound). A USB extension cable is provided to extend the reach of your USB dongle if you don't want to plug it directly into your PC's USB ports. However, if you don't want to use a cable, I would recommend that you plug the dongle into the front or top USB ports of your PC case, if applicable. If you don't want to plug it into the back where you can't see the indicators on the key to check the status. A small addition that I think could make it a little better: a magnet too, because when you're not using the microphone (completely off) the dongle just blinks until it's plugged back in. To prevent constant use, they also need to add a small magnet to the dongle so you can just pull it out of the USB port and attach it to your PC case, then take it out and put it back in when you're using your mic again. Overall I'm very happy with this wireless fashion microphone, I would definitely recommend it to anyone who uses headphones + a separate microphone setup and wants the freedom to choose what to do with your microphone, it's way better than Headphones. The cons and neutrality are not the deciding factor for me, they are just things that can be improved to make the mic even better.

Pros
  • WORK & PLAY. ModMic's flexibility makes it ideal for gamers or streamers who don't want to choose between great headphone sound and crappy microphone sound or vice versa. Use with apps like Skype, Ventrilo, Discord, Hangouts and more.
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
