Review on 🔊 Pyramid RSW12100: 100ft 12 Gauge Speaker Wire - Ideal Cable for Audio Stereo, Surround Sound, TV Home Theater, and Car Stereo Connectivity by Antoine Cash

Bought for use in some home theater cables, thought I could compare it to some other cables August 12th and 14th was nearby. Cut about 1.75 inches from each wire and strip the copper from the insulation. Measured metal weight of each strand using an accurate scale: 0.2g: Pyramid Power 12 AWG (this wire) 0.4g: Monster XP 14 AWG, purchased circa 2000, discontinued 20180.8g: Construction Store, 14 gauge, purchased 20121.2: Installgear 12 AWG , purchased here from Revain (see review) Checking the official dimensions of stranded copper wire, the weight of this wire is approximately 1/6th the weight per length the wire should be 12 Aug. Installer and hardware store cords are close-knit, and Monster XP cable, which is labeled 14 gauge and later advertised as 16 gauge, weighs about half what it should be for 14 gauge. It is possible that the pyramid wire is made of copper-plated aluminum. although I look at the strands that have been cut, I can't tell. Even though this wire is aluminum, it's still about half the light for 12 AWG, so it still fails. Wires (didn't want the hassle). Of the four, the Installgear has the best handling and looks good with smoked insulation. Monster wire is really tough. It has two outer layers of insulation and a transparent plastic strand around which the copper strands run. If it was available in 12 gauge I would buy more. Given the appalling amount of metal actually used in this wire, it earns 1 star. The truth in the ad please.
