Review on DEWALT DCN680D1 Cordless Nailer Kit by Brandon Addison

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I am very impressed with my first nail gun

I have never owned a nail gun and I took a chance on this one and was not disappointed. It's a very sophisticated and well-designed tool, durable and quite powerful, with excellent security features. It has worked flawlessly so far and I like not being tied to a power cord or pneumatic tube. My only complaint is that the depth dial initially got stuck and took a lot of force to turn, but has since loosened up nicely. And despite an intact pickguard, a fully depressed spring-loaded actuation tip leaves a slight dent in the softwood. However, I am happy with this purchase. I've always preferred screws to nails, but now that I know the capabilities of this tool, it's definitely a winner in certain situations. This 18 gauge nailer (DCN680D1) comes with a durable case and matching battery. (DCB203; 20V; 2Ah) and charger (DCB112). Also, only the bare instrument (DCN680B) was available through Revain, no battery, charger or case; However, it was only $2 cheaper back then, so the choice wasn't difficult. I didn't want to buy thousands of the same size nails for my existing small projects so I was happy to find the different packs available at Revain. (DeWalt DWBN18PP). This "project pack" includes 300 nails in sizes 3/4", 1-1/4", and 2" for about a cent each.
