"Part 1" is a filter housing drain tool that screws into the bottom of the housing. , which seems like the obvious choice to me to remove the VW 2.5 liter oil filter housing cover when replacing the paper filter element. and you're probably attuned to the life of your VW (and the next one and so on). A good product.
