Review on Enhanced Performance: Extreme Broadband Manufacturing BDS104H 4 Way πŸ”Œ HD Digital Coax Cable Splitter - Amplify Your Signal Strength! by Josh Schaefer

Turning the image on and off stopped. Available again on request!

I have a Comcast cable with 3 HD boxes. Two work fine upstairs, but one in the playroom gave me trouble. The image appeared and disappeared every 10-15 minutes or so. I even started seeing error messages when trying to access On Demand. I contacted Comcast, they rebooted the box for me several times, I unplugged and plugged it back in, even changed the HD boxes to work above. At the end of the conversation they wanted to send a master. I decided to look into this matter myself because I don't have that monthly cable TV plan and I don't want to pay $35 for a single visit or any other price. Cable modems, cable modems and satellite dishes should use RG6-certified coaxial cable because it has better shielding (quad or quadruple), better frequency and no interference compared to older models like RG59. The wire in your home should be labeled to indicate what type it is; RG6, RG59 or whatever. I replaced my current cable in the playroom with this one from Revain, Mediabridge Coax (25ft) with F-connectors - Mediabridge Ultra Series - Triple Shielded, UL CL2 RG6 Certified, In-Wall Digital Audio/Video - Includes detachable EZ -Plug handle (part no. CJ25-6BF-N1). I also replaced the black/gold Comcast splitter with this high performance Extreme HD Digital connector as each connector was rated at -7dB while Comcast was rated at -5dB and -3dB. I believe this was the problem due to the incompatible connector ratings; My box wasn't getting enough juice from the splitter. After the cable and splitter were updated the error messages stopped, I was able to access on demand and watch my programs without logging in and out. You could probably just replace that splitter and not upgrade the cable unless it's obsolete. I'm just glad that I can watch TV undisturbed.
