Expensive but already paid for itself

Well done, solid, good performance and user friendly software menu. Good battery life. The bright, clear screen is large and makes viewing comfortable. Fits right in your pocket, easy to carry. We use it to detect faulty ICs on power amplifier boards. You can't see it with the naked eye, but this camera shows overheated chips glowing brightly on the screen. Boards are diagnosed in minutes, not hours. For that alone it was worth the price. If you're new to infrared imaging, don't expect a lot of megapixels, it's going to cost you a fortune. If you need more resolution instead, just get closer to the subject. The resolution of this camera is suitable for my application. It has good file transfer features that I haven't used yet. It has a different use, no less remarkable. If a horse or cow does not come home at night, this camera can quickly detect them from a long distance. Similarly, a quick scan of the pasture will confirm they are all present and accounted for. It's better than a flashlight because they stand out against objects they're obscuring, like fences, trees, and bushes, which appear dark in infrared.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Useless features
