This is the third MikroTik product I have purchased. Like all of them, it's highly customizable and very powerful. RouterOS can get the job done, but you'll have to take the time to learn its interface. Many configuration options are in non-obvious menus. That being said I have a completely separate guest network with wifi hotspots for 2.4 and 5 and even a gigabit port on a network isolated from everything else. The two main issues I have (which makes it 4 stars instead of 5): as follows. First, the 5GHz network is very sensitive to "radar detection". I cannot boot the router with 160MHz channels. 5GHz only works for me if I set channel size to 80MHz and frequency between 5180-5240. Anything else and the router says it detects radar and disables the 5GHz hotspot. This is somewhat limiting and I don't recall this having been an issue with other routers. The second problem is that the device heats up noticeably when touched. While the system health indicators don't seem to show any issues, I'm concerned about the temperature in general.
