Finally a good metric ruler!

Amazing! This is the first quarter of the 21st century. The media is full of references to the importance of promoting that pathetic acronym STEM - Science Technology Engineering Math, our current President is promoting a trade deal with Pacific Economic Entities and I should be thrilled because I have a really, really good line bought from SI units. Everywhere I look, particularly hardware stores, computer parts stores, or general electronics stores, I rarely see a measuring scale, ruler, or tape measure with mixed 'metric'/English (imperial) units. . Finding an allmetric ruler would be nothing short of a miracle. Previous attempts to purchase a 25mm x 1mm x nnnmm ruler led me to websites in Germany where I was told that an import duty would increase the price of the ruler and make it prohibitively expensive. The United States of America should have switched to SI units by 1980. There was tremendous resistance from the public, political groups, and anti-government viewpoints that market forces would eventually lead to natural, nonviolent transformation. That didn't happen. The main reason is that the people of the United States could not understand the need. This scale is the result of three purchases of all millimeter metal scales. It's sad that I like to celebrate what I could buy at a good hardware or tool store in Japan. At the same time, our children and workers must remain interested in STEM and continue to contribute to the growth of "American” manufacturing. We can bring production back, but it might be a good idea to make products based on the physical units used by the rest of the Pacific economies. By the way, great line.
