Review on 🍞 Skater Brand: Authentic Japanese Plastic Bread Slicer - Made in Japan by Tiffany Love

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I love this bread slicer!

I took a risk and bought this knife although I wasn't sure if my Henckels bread knife (7 in Classic) would fit in the rail. Fits perfectly! It is made of very durable plastic. I've bought other (weak) bread slicers from The Container and the plastic on this one is better than any. You can cut the loaves into 4 different thicknesses. I love it for French and Texas-style toast. I use it primarily for slicing the bread I bake in my mini Zojirushi breadmaker. I also use it to slice bread that I bake without a bread machine; regular loaves (using an 8.5 x 4.5 pan), Pullman bread, baguettes, Italian bread, etc. Unlike the other reviewers, I've made many loaves without my breadmaker, which have easily fit in this pane. I had a loaf that was too wide so I just put the loaf on its side and cut it that way. Works perfectly! It slips, but I just cut off a piece of the drawer liner (like the stuff you use to open a can) and used it as an anti-slip mat. Gives me some leverage and works great. This is my #1 tip for using it successfully. THE BEST IS FOLDING! That's one of the main reasons I bought this. Fits completely in a kitchen drawer and even if you keep it on the counter it won't take up space. The hole is 4 7/8" wide and 6 1/4" high. When folded it is 5 1/2" wide, 6 7/8" tall and 2 1/2" deep. I would recommend this bakery to anyone!
