We bought these on a whim as ours were disappearing over time. Holy smokes are amazing things. They're designed to provide a secure seal (to the point where a hot drink might try to push the lid up because it's airtight). Then there is the combination of drinking lid and drinking straw port. Keeping the straw opening closed restricts flow, allowing you to take small, measured sips of very hot beverages, and opening the straw opening allows airflow for a decent consumption rate. This is an improvement over the original caps we had and I will get all other replacement parts here.
